In which I basically link to some stuff and confess to not washing my hair.

See? Now you don’t even have to read this.  You can just click on the links and get the hell out of here.

I have been walking around like a space cadet today.  I’m blaming allergies, since I didn’t even drink last night.  Consequently, despite the fact that I have stared at this computer screen for far too long already, my repertoire for the day is limited.  Very limited.   Ergo, I present to you some bullet points:

  • None of my news will be as exciting as a certain someone else’s news today.  Woo!  Props to Stefanie for telling me to check out that blog today since she knows I don’t keep on top of my reading.
  • It is cold and blustery and windy today.  Because of this, I decided not to wash my hair, which I haven’t done since Wednesday.  Why bother?  I thought to myself.  It will look crappy regardless.  Um…I should have bothered after all.  I think it’s safe to say that it looks crappier unwashed than it would have if I hadn’t washed it.
  • I’ve recently learned that two of my real life friends have blogs of their very own.  Woo!  You should read them and be friends with them, too.  Internets, meet the lovely and delightful JustCallMeNora and the handsome and awesome MediaHerd
  • I keep interviewing candidates who I want to set up on dates.  Perhaps I should start a recruiting/matchmaking business….hmm.
  • I am sleepy.
  • My nephew (Rob’s brother’s son, that is) is graduating from college this weekend.  His entire family, including me and Rob, will be attending.  I’m sure you can guess how I feel about this.  I have a feeling I can also guess how my nephew feels about this, too.  Is it just me, or does it seem like it would be less stressful to just have your immediate family along?
  • Lastly, but definitely not leastly, I found someone who can and will fix my blog for a reasonable price.  This means that – as early as next week – my comments will be back!  As will my blogroll!  And all sorts of other goodies.  (Um, like categorized posts…woooo!)(fine, that’s not that exciting.)  I might even get fancy and change the design a bit.  White white whine?  Nah.

With that, I think I will put myself out of my misery.  By that, I mean I will stop trying to be interesting and witty and will instead go downstairs and buy myself a trusty diet coke – my third one of the day.   Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

I think categorized posts are great. It is the best way ever to read someone’s archives. Which is what I will be doing to you once your categories are back.

  2. I’m sure your hair looked lovely. And if not, well, that’s what ponytails are for, right?

You should totally go for the matchmaking business. You’re great at advice, you could totally work it! Plus, you’d know all the legal stuff!

Hooray! I like your blog as it is though, but I’m glad it’s good news. Looks like good news all around today!

Am I one of the people you want to set up your candidates with? (If not, why not?? Just kidding.) :-)

Alicia Silverstone was on a short-lived show several years ago where she was both a lawyer and a matchmaker. (It was called Miss Match, and I keep waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can see it, as I caught only a few episodes when it was on.) Anyway, so you see, it’s not such a far-off idea!

We’ve got a massive number of extended family members on hubby’s side, too. We’ve got some nieces and nephews that will be graduating high school in the next few years. If it’s like hubby’s little brother’s high school graduation, they will invite all 25 siblings, spouses and children. I wouldn’t have wanted 25 family members at my high school graduation, nor do I think aunts and uncles need to BE at the graduation. That’s what the party’s for.

When I graduated from college, my grandparents flew out. It was great to share it with them, of course, but it was sort of like, “Why are you guys here?”

    Thanks!

I spent my weekend with the in-laws, and it turned out ok. I hope your weekend turned out ok too!

    Since we’re confessing about this…

I went from Thursday of last week to Monday of this week without washing my hair. I did, however, occasionally wash my bangs, which seemed to camouflage the problem. And, I also discovered that Aveda’s confixor freshens it up in a hurry when needed & actually makes it smell good.

I was busy! Really busy! My hair takes a lot of effort to wash!

    I am gross.

  9. I think the real reason you’re not blogging as much is because you are reading so much and updating GoodReads! ;-) One of these days, I’ll update my account there.

There is nothing wrong with not washing your hair. Supposedly, it’s actually better NOT to wash your hair so much. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. ahem.

  10. Alicia Silverstone is the sex symbol in the late 90s, she is really very pretty.–’
